Mrs L. Broomby
Lynette Broomby has been a Board member of Eskleigh Foundation Inc. since November 2010.
Lynette is a Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA) with 23 years of broad accounting experience. A contract accountant for the last 10 years providing accounting, stategic and system development services to small and medium size businesses.
Prior to this Lynette has held seniro financial management roles predominiantly in the manufacturing sector. This is coupled with chartered accounting experience in the area of corporate insolvency and taxation.
Lynette is married with two primary aged children and also runs a commercial piggery with her husband Alan on the West Tamar. In her spare time Lynette enjoys food, gardening, travel and the occasional hit of golf.*
Dr. W. Gibson
Dr William (Bill) Gibson was born in Launceston in 1939. He is married with one son.
He completed B.Sc.Agr (1960 and M.Sc.Agr. (1962) degrees at the University of Sydney, and then studied at the University of Illinois, Urbana, completing a PH.D. degree in 1965.
Upon his return to Australia in 1966 he was appointed to the Academic staff in the Department of Physiology, Monash University where he taught and did research for 21 years.
Since his return to Tasmania in 1987 Bill has managed the family’s farming property ‘Scone’, in Perth. Bill’s connection with Eskleigh continues a family connection since the Eskleigh property was formerly the homestead for Scone. His father, Beaumont Gibson, with others, arranged in the 1940s for the homestead to become Eskleigh Nursing Home.*
Mr T. Henty
Tim Henty was born in Launceston in 1936. He is married with two children and four grandchildren.
Tim commenced work in Launceston before travelling to London where he started working in the meat industry, he was in this field for 24 years. He was last employed in the real estate industry as a property manager.
He is a life member Apex, Eskleigh and a Paul Harris Fellow in Rotary.
Tim served on the General Committee of the Launceston Bank for Savings and the Port of Launceston Authority for a number of years.
He has served on the Board of the Eskleigh Foundation since 1976.
He enjoys reading and playing golf.*
Dr. F. Joske
Dr. Fiona Joske was born in Melbourne in 1956 and moved to Tasmania as a teenager. She graduated in Medicine from the University of Tasmania in 1979 and is now a General Practitioner with practices in both Longford and Perth.
She is married to Dr. Tim Flanagan and they have two children.
Fiona joined the Board of Directors of Eskleigh in 2000 and is the immediate past Chair.
She is a member of the Medical Board of Australia and a member of the Council of the University of Tasmania.*
Mr L. Morrell
Lionel Morrell, Honorary Life Member Eskleigh.
Born and educated in Launceston, Married to Meredith, with one adult daughter. Completed studies in Hobart in 1979, BA Environmental Design, then Architecture in 1985. Lionel was invited to join the Eskleigh Board in 1982, after having acted for Eskleigh in a professional capacity in superintending the construction of Haines Wing.
Board Chairman 1988 to 1990 and member of House Management, Development (Present Chairman), Tasmanian Art Award at Eskleigh (Founding Chairman 13 years), Finance and Audit Committees.
Lionel’s interest in Eskleigh as been stimulated by his completion of a thesis Design of Extended-care Nursing Facilities in 1984, incorporating a case study for the upgrading of Eskleigh Home at Perth.
Other community interests include National Trust (Tasmanian President 1987-2000) and Director Australian Council of Trusts, and other community and conservation heritage groups in Tasmania.*
Ms D. Porteous
Chair
Diane Porteous is a pharmacist who owns Perth Pharmacy.
She is involved in various business enterprises in Tasmania and Victoria, and thoroughly enjoys her participation in Eskleigh. She hopes that her time on the Eskleigh Board contributes to a greater public recognition of the needs of people with disabilities, and helps to improve the quality of life for those who are supported for by Eskleigh.
Diane has been an Eskleigh Board member for six years, and has been Chair for two years.*
Mrs E. B. Sheldrick
Brenda Sheldrick was born on the North West Coast of Tasmania in 1947 and is married with two sons.
Brenda worked in tourism and private enterprise prior to administrative roles in Local Government for ten years and senior management in a Government Business Enterprise for 22 years and 6 months, 12 years as CEO.
She was appointed to the Eskleigh Board in 1986 and was Chairman from 1991-1994, has served on many Board committees and was Treasurer 2008/2009.
Her other main community interest is as a Board member of the Festivale Committee.*
Mr M. Walsh
Michael Walsh grew up on a farm in North Riverside and now lives in Trevallyn with his wife and two young daughters. He has been a Certified Practicing Accountant for 14 years.
He started his career at the Launceston office of Woolworths Supermarkets, then worked in education as the Accountant for Scotch Oakburn College before moving to Western Australia in 1999 to join the mining and construction industry with a global company called Metso. He travelled extensively in Asia with Metso before moving with his family in 2003 to England to work with Metso UK.
Michael returned to Launceston in 2007 and joined Calvary Health Care Tasmania where he currently works as Business Manager for St Luke’s and St Vincent’s Hospitals. He is the President of the local community group at Four Mile Creek on the East Coast and supports the Launceston Male Choir as auditor.
Michael enjoys every moment he can with his family and still finds time for cycling each morning and surfing when possible.*
Mr T. Whyte
Mr Whyte is married with three adult children and resides in Dilston in Tasmania.
Tim was born in Launceston and educated at Launceston Church Grammar School.
He attended the University of Tasmania in Hobart where he gained a Bachelor degree in Law.
Upon gaining his law degree Tim commenced practice with Ritchie & Parker Alfred Green and Co., Barristers and Solicitors in Launceston Tasmania and became a Partner of the firm shortly thereafter. Tim’s principle areas of practice are in commercial and property law.
Tim is currently a Director and Deputy Chairman of the Board of B&E Ltd. And also a member of the Board’s Audit and Risk Committee.
Tim’s hobbies include rowing and in that regard he has actively participated in the sport by coaching various teams for the Launceston Church Grammar School and being appointed Director of Coaching.
Tim also enjoys boating, fishing and spending quality time with is family.*
Mrs R. Boyd
Rozanne Boyd was born and educated in Hobart, Tasmania and moved to Longford after marrying Graeme in 1969. She has 2 children and 2 grandchildren.
Rozanne worked for the ABC for 5 years and started working at Eskleigh as a Nurse’s Aide in 1974 and retired in August 2010. The only break from Eskleigh was maternity leave from 1978 – 1981.
Rozanne experienced a variety of roles in her time at Eskleigh from Support work in Group Homes to Leisure and Lifestyle at Eskleigh Home.
Since retiring Rozanne has continued to fundraise for Eskleigh.
Rozanne was appointed to the Eskleigh Board in October 2011 and is a member of the Fundraising Committee and House Committee.
